Bringing People Together

Julie Reiner and Tom Macy launched Social Hour in the summer of 2020. The two first collaborated in 2009, when Tom was hired as a barback at Clover Club.

At Clover Club, Tom worked his way up to bartender, head bartender, and eventually partner, where his mission to create the perfect Gin & Tonic would evolve into the concept behind Social Hour. Tom features cocktail recipes, tips, and techniques on his personal website, tommacy.com.

Julie brings more than 20 years of experience in leading the forefront of NYC cocktail culture, for which she and her bars have received numerous accolades. Julie is also the author of The Craft Cocktail Party, and was a judge on the 2022 web series Drink Masters on Netflix. We’ve also featured her in a previous post!

The accomplished duo behind Social Hour want to stress what they see as the true value of cocktails: their unique ability to bring people together. And with all of the thought and feeling behind that sentiment nestled into some prime aesthetic cans, who’s going to turn that down?
